Two Westends under one name
North and west of Theodor-Heuss-Platz the streets are residential and calm: Reichsstraße, Steubenplatz, Branitzer Platz, Kastanienallee and the roads between them. South and east lie the Messe grounds, the Funkturm and the arteries that fill up whenever something is on. Which half you are in decides the arrival window far more than the raw distance does.
Villa doors and what sits behind them
The detached houses here are largely interwar, and their owners have generally invested in the front entrance: security fittings, pull-resistant cylinders, occasionally a contact wired into an alarm. Replacing a certified cylinder on that class of door starts at 220 €. Side and garden doors on the same house are often decades behind, which is worth knowing, because the easiest lawful way back into a locked house is not always the door you happen to be standing at.
The apartment blocks along the main roads
Kaiserdamm and Reichsstraße are lined with apartment buildings of every era, from surviving pre-war blocks through plain post-war infill to newer builds with multipoint locking. On the newer doors a leaf that has swung shut is usually manageable, whereas a fully locked one means the cylinder comes out. Say whether you turned the key, because that single fact separates a 70 € job from one starting at 110 €.
Event days, parking and honest timing
During trade fairs and matches at the Olympiastadion, both the roads and the kerbside vanish. I plan around that rather than pretend it is not happening, and if the realistic arrival is fifty minutes then fifty minutes is what I tell you. On those days, meeting me at the entrance saves more time than any shortcut through the back streets.
The price in plain terms
A door resting on its latch is from 70 €; a locked door, a lost key or a failed cylinder from 110 €. Addresses beyond the near core are either quoted from 90 € or carry travel from 20 €, and the flat night, weekend and holiday addition is 20 €. Nothing further arrives at the end: no tax line, and no callout fee invented once the door is open.

Questions about emergency locksmith Westend
Can you get through during a fair at the Messe?
Usually, but more slowly. I look at the route before giving you a time, and I would rather quote fifty minutes and arrive in forty than the other way round.
How much more is it if the door was locked rather than shut?
From 110 € instead of from 70 €, because a locked door normally means the cylinder is drilled and replaced. A standard replacement cylinder is roughly 30 € more, a certified security one from 220 €.
Is Saturday charged differently?
There is one flat addition of 20 € covering weekends, public holidays and the hours between 19:00 and 08:00. It does not stack up when your job happens to be both late and at the weekend.
Is there honestly no tax on top?
There honestly is not. The business runs under the small-business rule in § 19 UStG, so the invoice carries no value added tax and the agreed amount is the amount due.
Do you fit locks as well as open them?
Yes: cylinder replacement, upgrading a weak cylinder, and securing a door that has been damaged. Anything affecting a shared entrance or the building’s security needs the owner’s or the managing agent’s approval first.
