Back home in Tegel and the key is not where it should be.
Coming back from the lake or off a late shift and finding yourself on the wrong side of your own front door is an ordinary evening in this trade. Say what the door is doing and I will say what it costs and when I can be there.

Fluent English · direct owner contact
You can speak to me in English.
I speak English fluently. I may initially answer the phone in German because I work in Berlin; simply speak to me in English and I will switch immediately. You speak directly with me—the locksmith who clarifies the door situation, explains the price components, travels to you, carries out the agreed work and issues the invoice.
What to expect
Clear emergency process, no mystery price game.
I ask what happened, where you are, whether the door is shut or locked, whether the key is inside or lost, and whether an invoice is needed. Then I give a realistic arrival and price range.
Simple shut door
Damage-minimising opening first if the latch can be reached.
Locked door / lost key
May require drilling, pulling or cylinder replacement after explanation.
Company invoice
Billing address, e-mail and service details can be recorded.

Pointing me at the right entrance
Buddestraße, Karolinenstraße and the roads off Berliner Straße look much alike once it is dark, and the waterfront blocks have entrances facing away from the road. The most useful sentence you can give me is where your door faces and what stands next to it: the promenade, the market, the U-Bahn viaduct, the brick tower. For the last two hundred metres that beats a postcode.
Industrial conversions and older housing side by side
Flats built into the old Borsig halls come with contemporary door sets: multipoint locking, controlled entrance systems, sometimes a fob for the outer door. The surrounding streets are largely 1930s and 1960s housing whose doors are simpler and older. Two quite different kinds of work, so it matters that I know which one I am driving towards.
Locked, lost or broken: three different jobs
Locked doors, missing keys and cylinders that have failed are all priced from 110 €, because they normally end with a drilled cylinder and a new one fitted. A snapped key is often the exception: where part of it is still visible and the door is not fully locked, extraction can work and the lock survives. Certified security cylinders start at 220 € to replace, motorised and electronic locks at 300 €.
Arrival, journey and the night rate
From Charlottenburg this is 25 to 45 minutes plus the journey, charged from 20 € or built into a job quoted from 90 €. The night and weekend addition is a flat 20 €, applying from 19:00 until 09:00 and throughout public holidays. All of it is stated before I set off, and none of it has tax added afterwards.

FAQ
Questions about emergency locksmith Tegel
How long does the drive to Alt-Tegel take?
Between 25 and 45 minutes in normal conditions, plus whatever the traffic on the northern route adds. I give you a window rather than a single optimistic number.
The key snapped off in the lock. Can you still open it?
Often, yes. If a fragment protrudes and the bolt was not thrown, the broken part can sometimes be drawn out and the cylinder kept in service. If the remainder has gone deep, or the door is locked, the cylinder gets drilled and replaced instead.
Do you handle building entrance doors as well as flats?
Yes, although a communal door needs the agreement of the owner or the managing agent, since it protects everybody in the house rather than you alone.
Is the quote still binding if the job turns out harder than expected?
Yes. That risk belongs to me, not to you. The only things that can change the total are things you decide, such as agreeing to a replacement cylinder or a better one than the door had before.
